The Censorship of the Anti-War Sentiment

War is commonly debated as either a necessary or unnecessary evil. Some believe war is inevitable at times, while others are against the fighting and dying as well as the toll it takes on soldiers. However, it’s worth noting that war has become extremely profitable in the past, especially for bigger countries such as the United States. Because of this, there has been a strong connection between war and revenue throughout the government for ages. It is hard to not believe that the government prefers power, control and wealth more than they prefer the safety and security of the people.

In the same sentence, a government that likes to profit off wars may not find someone speaking out against them favorable. Throughout history, anti-war protests were a very common occurrence and it should seem that with the rise of social media, movements for them online are stronger than ever. However, that does not seem to be the case, and that is all due to censorship. While there are dozens of major news networks that have coverage 24/7, it seems as if none of them show any sort of anti-war coverage. Looking at a site like AntiWar.Com, just the homepage is filled with stories, articles and videos that are backed up by facts and research that I would’ve never seen on regular news coverage. America is silencing the anti-war sentiment because they know it is detrimental to their main goal- money.

The government loves war. It is as simple as that. While it is easy to put on a fake sad face and pretend like they care about the death toll and the years of work blown to shreds, the media stays quiet because they know the true intention of revenue. Why hasn’t there been more coverage on the Biden administration sending trillions of dollars to Ukraine in a war we aren’t even remotely involved in? I think there’s a very clear answer.
